Management

A
Coordination Unit, runs the project. It is composed by two
representatives from each partner.
It is chaired by the Lead Partner. As. Prof.Nikolas Zouros is the project manager. Project management is based on the sub-division of the various tasks into four components.
The
Project Manager is responsible for the management and
coordination of all project
activities and for the timely achievement of the project deliverables. He has the
leading role in team-building, and is the channel of
communication with the INTERREG Technical Secretariat.
The Lead partner is responsible for all the administrative and
financial management of the project.
All invoices are being submitted to the Lead Partner in order to be controlled and paid.
Financial
management is provided through the establishment of a project
specific, suspense account through which all payments and receipts are
processed.
An indepent auditor is autiding the financial reports from the partners and the combined total progress report of the project. Coordination Unit

COORDINATION MEETINGS :
Several coordination meetings were held.
The 1st in Eisenwurzen Austria, 19-20 June 2003. During this meeting the first open conference was prepared and the programming of these actions and the duties of the partners of the INTERREG IIIC Project was done.
A coordination meeting was held in Anogia (October 2003) parallel to the Thematic Conference on geotourism
A coordination meeting was held in Rocca Di Cerere Geopark (March 2004) parallel to the thematic seminar on the evaluation
The 2nd coordination meeting was held 19-20 April 2004 in Mitilini, Lesvos, Greece. During this meeting was finalized the first progress report, with all financial data necessary and the actions for the next period were planned.
The 3rd coordination meeting was held in Reserve Geologique du Haute Provence (June 2004)
A coordination meeting was held in madonie Geopark (October 2004) parallel to the thematic conference
The 4th coordination meeting was held in Bergstarsse Odenwald geopark (March 2005)
The 5th coordination meeting was held in Copper Coast Geopark (June 2005)
A coordination meeting was held 4 October 2005 in Mitilini, Lesvos, Greece. During this meeting was finalized the progress report for the period May - October 2005. It was also decided to ask for a three months elongation of the Projects duration.

In December 2004 the INTERREG
III C Forum was organized by the INTERREG III C Authorities in Rotterdam. The
European geoparks Network was presented and its result were discussed durring a
thematic workshop.
