The Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest is found in the village of Sigri and it can be accessed by bus, car, motorbike etc.
BUS
For public transport, the long-distance bus service (KTEL) is available. In the summer there are 2 daily trips from Mytilene to Sigri, while in the winter there are 2 trips per week.
FERRY BOAT
From Lesvos there is a daily ferry to Piraeus and Chios and regular trips to the ports of Rafina, Mirina in Limnos, Thessaloniki and Kavala. Mytilene is also an intermediate port of the outlying island line which connects Alexandroupolis with Rhodes.
In the summer months there are also alternative itineraries to the Cycladic islands. The Chios – Piraeus itinerary is also serviced by high-speed boats which make the trip in about 8 hours.
AIR
There are daily flights to Thessaloniki and Athens (flight duration approx. 45 minutes), as well as scheduled flights to Limnos, Chios, Samos, Rhodes and twice a week to Crete.
